Hello everyone! Welcome to my new website. I hope you like it and find it easy to navigate. I
will periodically use this update page to let you know what I'm up to. You can also join my
Yahoo group where I do show up from time to time. We're one big family there. Come and
join us.
The front page is always reserved for new and upcoming books. If you have any questions, or
comments about any of my work, please send me off an email. I read them and I do write
back.
Recently my readers let me know that they were disappointed with this page. Apparently I
didn't disclose enough about myself. So, I repent.
I began writing at a young age, and like any writer, the craft kept me sane. Writing is a mix of
craft and talent. When the talent is raw, it is what let's you know that you are compelled to
write. Practise is where the craft part begins. How do you become a writer? Write. How do
you become a good writer? Write some more and don't stop.
When I'm not writing, I run a business and am engaged in a long distance love affair, one
which has been quite unexpected. It's not easy but we've both decided we have no choice in
the matter. Passion reigns supreme.
I love my readers, and enjoy hearing from them. I'll write other things here from time to time.

Oh I know, I know I haven't written anything on here since October 26th...2009... I'm a bad,
bad boy and lately, I've been earning my title. Every time someone gets angry at me, I want to
know why, what for...what did I do? And although I'm going to speak hypothetically here, I
want you to know, I love small animals, I give to charitable causes and I really love my
readers. I am also fiercely passionate about causes that I find important, fighting homophobia,
racism, sexism, and e-book theft. These issues are my no compromise zone. The cause means
everything to me, if that's wrong, I will be wrong.
I have high hopes for the Stealing My Heart Anthology, and I want to make this clear, I didn't
spearhead this project for myself or because I hoped to gain anything by it personally. I truly
want to bring attention to those people who illegally download my work, and the work of
authors every single day, and stop them. That's all I wanted from the beginning and what I
still want. It's not a popularity contest. And if it was, it looks like I'd lose because I seem to
be absent when people don't want to include me and up front and centre when they're not
happy.
I want this to be about AACT, not about me. I want people to recognise AACT and associate
this group with the fight against illegal downloading.
Sometimes I assume that everyone is on the same planet I am on...lol...but often I'm standing
there on that planet alone. I'm an idealist. I know that, and one of my best friends once said,
you know, not everyone is like you...and can give up everything for the cause. That's okay.
Not everyone is me.
I once sat outside a bar for three days and nights in a kiss in. What's that? Well, two ladies
were kicked out of a bar for kissing, so a bunch of us sat outside the bar kissing members of
the same sex in protest. I did get to kiss some pretty fantastic guys if I remember, but I
digress. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
So if ever I put together another anthology, and you want to join up because you want your
name in lights, find another anthology please. Stealing My Heart is about a cause, not about
the players. And if that makes me a bad guy then I will proudly wear the title.
Just try to remember, I am kind to small animals, take my employees out on their birthdays,
and help the elderly across the street. I just know when the cause is more important than the
individuals involved, and I'm thankful for that. And if that upsets some people, I truly
apologise. It was not my intention. I'm D.J. Manly. I know who I am. But this anthology is
called Stealing My Heart on behalf of AACT, not D.J. Manly's newest release. It was created
by seven different writers who devoted their work to this project. If you forget that I was part
of this anthology, that's fine with me. But if you remember AACT, I'll be thrilled.
I love you guys. Keep reading and writing...and remember....some one has to take the heat for
a cause sometimes and I'm turning my air conditioner on full.
